***Unfortunately I am taking a break from conducting classes at the moment. I will post on facebook when I'm up and running again.***
Classes are available during the day and evening according to demand in small groups.

Classes coincide with school terms and run for 45 minutes, however, it is advisable to come 10-15 minutes earlier to familiarise your dog with others and the environment.

The beginners class covers the following topics:

  • sit
  • loose lead walking
  • close walking
  • drop
  • leave items
  • give up items
  • attention and focus on handler
  • stand
  • mat training
  • stay/wait
  • recall
  • socialising
  • fun activities and tricks

The intermediate and advanced obedience classes include the same topics as the beginner's class but at a higher level with more distractions, longer times in positions and distance control.

In order to receive a discount from your dog registration, Alexandrina Council currently requires dogs to be trained to a minimum of Grade 2 level. Having successfully completed the intermediate class (equivalent to Grade 3), a certificate of achievement will be issued. Discounts are at the discretion of Alexandrina Council.
